Pros: lid doubles as cookie sheet, stackable, freezable, sturdy Cons: none, other than it's not professional thickness aluminum
I received a Mirro Covered Cake Pan as a wedding gift more than a decade ago and loved it on sight. Just looking at it told me it would be the most-used 9 by 13" pan in my kitchen ... and years later, that's only one-third true.
A cake pan that makes sense! by rosyjo ,Oct 03 '06
Pros: Metal lid, durability, versatility--needed in any kitchen! Cons: Hasn't been easy to find.
Like the previous reviewer I too received mine as a wedding present. I loved it for its durability and versatility. I loved the lid able to be used as a cookie sheet, that cakes I transported couldn't be crushed, and that I could stack on it. It didn't rust, there's no nonstick covering to wear off. It was a favorite in my kitchen. Unfortunately it met an untimely demise and I have been looking ever since to replace it. I've found nothing else that even comes close. Now I've found it in epinions today! If I can obtain a couple of these all my other cake pans will be donated!
